Updated: about 1 month ago
Location: Mount Lawley, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Deadline: 15 Oct 2023

At a glance

In the recent past, global technology leaders such as Facebook, Microsoft among others have invested significant resources to commercialise Metaverse through the use of real-time multisensory social interactions (RMSIs) in their business environments. It is clear that customers, in some cases, engage with RMSIs much the same way as they would with traditional computer-mediated environments. But it is also clear that environments built with RMSIs are very different from conventional technology-mediated environments, and that these differences will require some expanded thinking about the nature of engagement consumers have with metaverse. Such expanded thinking and novel theorizing are particularly needed in the context of the metaverse. This PhD project will examine of the opportunities and challenges firms and their customers may face in the new digital frontier of marketing i.e., The Metaverse.
