SAHMRI Health Policy Centre Supplementary Scholarship

The SAHMRI Health Policy Centre supplementary scholarship is funded through a Beat Cancer project fellowship to support a full-time PhD student who is successful in obtaining a major scholarship* (refer Eligibility criteria below) to work with Dr Kerry Ettridge on the specific project: Young Australian’s eating behaviours within the home food environment. The PhD student will undertake a program of research to understand internal motivations and external influences on consumption of discretionary foods in the home environment, and to test an intervention to reduce food misperceptions. This PhD would suit a student with a background or interest in public health, health psychology, behavioural science, health science and/or behavioural nutrition.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia who are acceptable as candidates for a PhD at the University of Adelaide.

Stipend

The scholarship will be for 3 years and has a stipend of $6,000 per annum. It is likely to be tax exempt, subject to Taxation Office approval. 

* To be eligible to receive this award, the applicant must also be awarded a major scholarship such as a Research Training Program Scholarship or University of Adelaide Research Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded within the University’s competitive rounds (major round and midyear round).
