The RMIT - Boeing Alliance Scholarship program supports PhD students to conduct cutting edge research in areas of strategic interest to the future of aerospace design and manufacturing. We seek enthusiastic and talented HDR students to conduct research in conjunction with a leading multi-national industry partner Boeing.  



The RMIT - Boeing Alliance Scholarship program supports PhD students to conduct cutting edge research in areas of strategic interest to the future of aerospace design and manufacturing. We seek enthusiastic and talented HDR students to conduct research in conjunction with a leading multi-national industry partner Boeing.  



In addition to an RMIT scholarship, successful candidates will receive a top-up scholarship from Boeing of $10,000 per annum and in addition a further  $10,000 of in-kind support per annum for three years with the possible extension of six months

  • First class honours degree in a relevant STEM field to the projects identified (GPA >~3.5) and/or Masters by Research Degree
  • All candidates will be interviewed
  • Depending on the security requirements of the project candidates may need to meet other eligibility criteria

The available project topics have been outlined on the PhD project list.  Topic areas include: Advanced Composite Structures, Additive Manufacturing, Design and Simulation.  Successful candidates will be co-supervised by a Boeing staff member and depending on the project undertake at least a portion of their research at Boeing's  manufacturing plant in Port Melbourne.
