The Student Community Team is instrumental in contributing to and improving the student experience by encouraging student engagement, facilitating the maximisation of student learning opportunities, promoting student access and delivering a range of student-oriented services and development programs. The Student Community team is a small specialist unit dedicated to creating a sense of belonging for our students. All of our initiatives and programs champion a welcoming community where students can find likeminded peers. We are committed to enhancing the student experience within the university fostering a sense of student community; while also leveraging off diverse and technology enhanced environments.

Our student leaders are an integral part of the Western Community, we are dedicated to empowering them and co-creating alongside them. We are also dedicated to the continued development of internal and external relationships and collaborations to promote conversations on enhancing student retention and success across our diverse programmes including LEAD, Clubs and WESTERNLife.

The position of Student Community Officer is responsible for contributing to the optimisation of social and community aspects of the student experience, with a particular focus on our virtual community WESTERNLife, which provides a place to connect with opportunity and engage with likeminded individuals. This environment will suit a flexible professional with an interest in technology and developing efficient processes, who is a fast learner and can successfully take on multiple challenges commensurate with their HEW level.

This full-time, fixed-term position until 4 February 2022 based at the Campbelltown Campus. Applicants should be prepared to operate across multiples campuses.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $98,696 to $105,828 p.a. (comprising Salary of $83,399 to $89,426 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
