The role

Highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellows are invited to apply for this position within the Centre. The successful appointee will undertake research using synchrotron techniques on the processing and deformation behaviour of a range of advanced metallic materials with a particular focus on Titanium. All projects will involve close liaison with AMPAM researchers.

The person

The successful applicant will have a PhD in Materials Science and/or Engineering in a relevant discipline, in-depth knowledge of crystalline Ti materials and/or metallic glasses and demonstrated experience with high energy synchrotron radiation. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career, have excellent general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent analytic skills, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.


This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Research Academic Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range AUD$74,254 - $79,708 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$86,877 - $93,258 p.a.).
