The successful candidate will investigate an ability of a wide range of small hetero-cyclic molecules to inhibit corrosion on steel. You will employ both high throughput methods and deeper analytical methods to firstly discover and then define the mechanisms of corrosion inhibition.

$31,700  for 3 years with a possibility of an extension for 6 months.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • have first-class Honours or 2A Honours or equivalent in a relevant discipline of electrochemistry, chemistry or material science
  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an international student currently in Australia and  meeting the minimum English language requirements
  • provide evidence of good oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team
  • meet RMIT’s PhD entry requirements.
