Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

I offer projects broadly related to supernova explosions and the final stages in the lives of massive stars. Specific topics of interest include fluid dynamics processes in stellar explosions and stellar interiors, birth properties of black holes and neutron stars, supernova light curves and spectra, gravitational waves, neutrino astrophysics, the production of heavy elements stellar explosions, and the development of numerical methods for astorphysical fluid dynamics and radiation transport. Projects may employ a range of approaches from analytic modelling and numerical calculations on desktop computers to large-scale multi-dimensional simulations on high-end supercomputers, depending on your interests and inclinations.

  • "Modelling extreme supernova explosions: From fast and faint to bright and powerful (with Prof Mandel) "
  • "Convection, Rotation, and Magnetic Fields in Massive Stars (with Prof Mandel) "
  • "Numerical Methods for Neutrino Transport "
  • "Connecting supernova explosions to neutron star and black hole birth properties (with Prof Mandel) "
