Fixed term, full-time position available for 12 months

The discipline of Psychiatry program provides comprehensive teaching and undertakes internationally recognised research into the biological basis of mental illness and innovative and effective clinical treatments.

We are seeking an experienced postdoctoral researcher with an interest in maths/machine learning and/or statistical skills and who has experience with clinical data, preferably with a mental health and imaging, genomics or biomarker background to undertake research in a recently awarded NHMRC funded projects.

To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD in the relevant discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in experimental design and analysing large datasets using R and Python or Stata and specific skills in machine learning.
  • Strong track record of high quality publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, including leading research, where applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of successful proposal submissions to external funding bodies.
