Melbourne Welcome Grant
The Melbourne Welcome Grant is aimed at assisting international students with the cost of travel and adjustment to study and life in Melbourne. The grant has been extended into 2023 for students who commenced their course in or prior to 2022, have re-enrolled in that course for Semester 1, 2023 and arrived in Australia by the 31 March 2023.

Eligibility & selection criteria
EligibilityTo be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be an international student enrolled in a coursework or research course^
- have commenced your course in or before 2022 and re-enrolled for 2023.
- have arrived in Australia between 1 December 2021 and 31 March 2023
- not have departed Australia on or after the start of Semester 2, 2021 (26 July 2021)
- not have previously received a Student Travel Grant or Melbourne Welcome Grant towards the cost of transitioning to study and life in Melbourne.
^ Excluding non-award programs, such as exchange or study abroad programs.
Selection criteriaThis grant will be offered to all eligible candidates.

Application process
You must submit an online Melbourne Welcome Grant application by 30 April 2023.
You cannot apply for this grant prior to arriving in Australia.
What are the benefits?
This grant provides a one-off payment of $4,000 usually made within 2 weeks after approval of your application.
Payments can only be made to an Australian bank account held in your name.
