Manager, Admissions & Scholarships Enablement

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (35-hour week)
  • Duration: 12-month Fixed Term Role 
  • Remuneration: From $138,171 - $146,613 (+ 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Location:  Kensington NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Why your role matters

The Manager, Admissions & Scholarships Enablement role plays a key part in bringing the two areas together and will work closely with the operational leads to improve systems and reporting capability whilst looking for opportunities to streamline and improve business outcomes.

Reporting to the Head, Admissions and Scholarships this role is responsible for the management and maintenance of UNSW and UAC related admission systems whilst overseeing 3 direct reports (UAC Admissions Team Leader, Systems & Reporting Analyst and Training & Compliance Team Leader) and an indirect team of 5. Reporting regularly on the performance of the Admissions and Scholarship team against key targets, this role will drive projects whist ensuring the university complies with required guidelines.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Provide strong leadership, coaching and mentoring to a team of direct and indirect reports within an environment that promotes respect, accountability, quality service and facilities, and fosters initiative and innovation.
  • Look for opportunities to integrate the activities and functions of the Admissions and Scholarships teams to improve processes and improve the student experience.
  • Manage the Admissions and Scholarship configuration in UNSW systems e.g. Apply Online, Accept Online, UNSW student system (SiMs), Insight CRM, Scholarship Application Management System (SAMS), Scholarship Application Online System (SAOS), business process development and enhancement of UAC & UNSW systems, and act as Product Owner as required.
  • Provide high-level advice in relation to admissions to prospective students, the University community, and external bodies.

About You:                    
You will hold a relevant degree with extensive experience or equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and experience alongside:  

  • Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams and to build a positive service-based culture.
  • Capacity to provide creative and innovative solutions to problems, analyse and improve processes, and implement quality assurance frameworks into operations to deliver continuous improvement
  • High-level capacity to implement change in a complex work environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of admissions within the higher education sector.
  • Proven collaborative and team-oriented approach, with ability to quickly establish and maintain a high level of personal and professional credibility at a senior management level and with the wider team.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in strategic policy analysis, research, development and evaluation
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and a capacity to influence decisions.

Work over the Christmas shutdown and some weekend work is required of this role
