To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder or an international student
- be enrolling full-time in a certificate IV, diploma or degree program at RMIT in semester 1 and 2 2024
- have at least one year of full-time study in your program left to complete
If you did not graduate from the Lonsdale Institute , we encourage you to still apply. However, you must be able to demonstrate both financial and educational disadvantage (circumstances which impact your ability to study) to be considered.
Applicants can demonstrate financial disadvantage by:
- receiving a government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
Applicants can demonstrate circumstances which impact your ability to study such as:
- having a long-term medical condition or disability
- experiencing personal/family/social difficulties
- be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT
- have previously/are currently living in foster/kinship care or are a ward of the state
- be from an under-represented background such as
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- were born overseas, are from a non-English background and recently migrated to Australia
- current or former refugee
- completed secondary school at a School Network Access Program school
Preference will be given to students who graduated from the Lonsdale Institute and are enrolled in a RMIT program by 30 January 2024.

Depending on your circumstances, you will need to provide different types of evidence and material to support your scholarship application. Applications without supporting documents will not be considered.
For applicants who have graduated/are graduating from the Lonsdale Institute, you must upload a copy of an official document that clearly identifies you have graduated from the Lonsdale Institute (i.e., academic transcript or testamur) or an official document that identifies you as currently enrolled and completing a program in 2023 from the Lonsdale Institute (e.g., confirmation of enrolment). Note: these documents will be verified with the Lonsdale Institute as part of the scholarship selection process.
