An opportunity exists within Deakin University’s Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) to undertake a PhD related to a NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) funded project. This project will use a RCT design to trial an m-health program for parents of two-year-olds, empowering them to ensure their child has more active play, less time sitting and gets enough sleep.
The successful candidate will work with the research supervision team to develop a program of research within the topic area of ‘m-Health to help parents enhance movement behaviours (physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep) for toddlers’. The student will conduct complementary analyses investigating either parental engagement with the smartphone intervention, or associations between parenting and children’s behaviour (active play, sitting and/or sleep), or another related topic, extending the core aims of the study.
Applications will remain open until a candidate has been appointed.
This scholarship is available over 3 years.
