About this scholarship

The Future of Work Institute PhD Scholarship creates an opportunity for outstanding students to join a team conducting research at the interface of psychology, technology, and organisations. The research project will be conducted under the supervision of Institute staff. Successful applicants will develop a topic in consultation with supervising staff that aligns with the priorities of the Institute and the interests of the applicant. Potential topics include sustaining work motivation in the digital age, leading digital transformation, skills of the future workforce, new recruitment and training methods, working with automated systems and cognitive science applied to work.

The full-time scholarship provides a living stipend of $30,000 per annum (tax-exempt), for up to a maximum of 3.5 years


Scholarship Details

Domestic or international full-time postgraduate students who meet the criteria for admission to a PhD at Curtin University, with an excellent academic record in a relevant field; and interest in the topic.

  • Full time enrolment
  • Prior studies in organisational psychology/ organisational behaviour, or a closely-related topic.
  • Outstanding communication skills and an ability to conduct research in complex professional settings.
  • Statistical skills and excellent knowledge of research methods.
  • A commitment to research collaboration with industry, including government and non-profit organisations

2.       A current CV* with a full citation of all publications

3.       A statement about your research interests (maximum 1 page)

4.       Academic transcripts for all degrees that you hold

5.       The names of two referees, at least one being an academic referee

This will allow initial consideration of the suitability for enrolment into a PhD and for the award of the scholarship.  Suitable candidates shortlisted from the EOI will be contacted for interview.

Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must maintain an academic status of ‘good standing’, meet the project milestones set by the Faculty of Business and Law and participate in the recommended learning and engagement activities conducted by the Future of Work Institute for Higher Degree Research students for retention of their scholarship.
