Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
  • have completed a minimum of 60 credit points towards your Bachelor's degree at the time of application;
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 30 credit points per semester;
  • demonstrate community leadership and contribution; and
  • have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN
  • not be in receipt of another scholarship over $5000.

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the Portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement in response to the following;

  • In 300-500 words, please explain what Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander Leadership means to you?
  • In 300-500 words, how do you demonstrate leadership and positively contribute to your community, either within ECU or more broadly? Please name the Aboriginal / Torres Strait community from which you descend or are accepted as a member?
  • If you are a successful recipient of this ECU Vice Chancellor’s Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander scholarship, how will this assist you in reaching your full potential as a student at ECU?

Applicants will also be required to provide a Letter of Support by an ECU peer or staff member, employer, independent community member or organisation using the Letter of Support Template provided.
