This PhD project will investigate the environmental drivers that influence productivity and ecosystem function of cyanobacterial mats in intertidal systems. It is funded by the Western Australian Marine Sciences Institution and the outcomes will provide guidance for future coastal developments. The successful PhD candidate will work in a collaborative team from ECU, Murdoch University, University of Western Australia and University of Queensland. The research will be conducted in remote field locations and in mesocosm facilities. The position is based at ECU, Joondalup in the productive Centre for Marine Ecosystems Research. This PhD scholarship includes a stipend of $33,000 per annum for the awardee.
