The Dr Chau Chak Wing Scholarships enable students to study overseas, promoting cultural exchange and deepening relations between Australia and China. Commencing in 2014, the scholarships will offer UTS students exciting opportunities in China, while students at UTS's Key Technology Partner universities in China will have the opportunity to study in Australia.
The scholarships build on the already rich and diverse collaborations UTS has with China.
The Dr Chau Chak Wing Scholarship program is made possible with the generous support of Australian Chinese businessman Dr Chau Chak Wing. In 2010, Dr Chau donated a generous gift of $25 million to UTS. Of the gift, $20 million is towards the construction of the Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Business School and $5 million is towards an endowment fund to support the Dr Chau Chak Wing Scholarships.
Dr Chau Scholars Network
Recipients of the Dr Chau Chak Wing Scholarships become alumni members of the prestigious Dr Chau Scholars Network, a dynamic and influential group of future leaders who help to foster relationships and educational outcomes between UTS and China.
