This scholarship provides up to $8,500 (full-time enrolled) for up to one year.
It is impractical to use this scholarship to assist with the payment of tuition fees. The scholarship is paid as a stipend (fortnightly payments) and not as a lump sum, commencing after the semester’s census date.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be:
- an Australian citizen, or
- the holder of one of the following visas
- Australian Humanitarian Visa, or
- Temporary Protection Visa (V785), or
- Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV), or
- Humanitarian Stay Visa (449), or
- Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (786), or
- be a person seeking asylum on Bridging Visa E (BVE), or
- Bridging Visa F (060);
- either:
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or
- be a current or former refugee, or
- be a person seeking asylum in Australia
- be enrolling full-time in semester 1 2024 in a postgraduate by coursework program at RMIT (or studying part-time with exceptional circumstances) in a STEM discipline (science, technology, engineering or mathematics)
- have at least one semester of full-time study left to complete in your program
- be able to demonstrate circumstance/s which impact your ability to study such as:
- receiving a Government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
- having a long-term medical condition or disability
- experiencing personal/family/social difficulties
- be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT.
