About this scholarship

This scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are undertaking their undergraduate degree at ACU’s Blacktown campus.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students (Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required )
  • Campus: Blacktown
  • Course: any ACU undergraduate degree

 


Application process

Applicants will be required to provide the following as part of the application:

  • A written statement of approximately 300 words outlining:
    • any hardships or barriers you have faced and the impact they have had on your path to higher education. This may include but is not limited to; financial hardship, excessive family or carer responsibilities, illness, disability, or coming from a rural, regional or remote location.
    • how this scholarship will assist you. 
  • Evidence of the hardships and financial need outlined in your written statement.

Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:

  • Hardships faced by the applicant
  • Financial need

 


Selection process

The recipients will be selected by the ACU Scholarships Office in consultation with First Peoples Directorate.

 


Ongoing requirements

To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients are required to maintain the following each semester for the duration of the scholarship:

  • Minimum pass grade for 50% of attempted units
  • Enrolment at the Blacktown campus

Recipients will be also requested to submit an Impact Statement for the donor explaining how the scholarship has assisted them. The letter should be submitted to the ACU Scholarships Office no later than 1 October each year.
