(Level A6-A8) $89,610-$96,007 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply.

This fixed-term position is available immediately for up to 3 years duration.

The Department of Chemistry is a vibrant research and teaching unit within the School of Physical Sciences and based on the central North Terrace Campus.  Academics, self-funded researchers, post-doctoral fellows, and a strong cohort of HDR students in the Department of Chemistry are working in areas of fundamental chemistry and on applied projects in health, environment, wine and food, energy technology and defence.

Through ARC Discovery Project funding an exciting opportunity has arisen to work with one of our internationally regarded research teams on the design and synthesis of hierarchically porous metal-organic framework catalysts.

This postdoctoral research position, which is available for up to three years, is an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in materials science and the design and synthesis of catalysts that are central to decarbonising industrial processes.

To be successful you should have:

  • A PhD in Chemistry.
  • Advanced skills and experience in the synthesis and characterisation of extended materials.
  • Experience in homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysis. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (for conference presentations, manuscript preparation) and a willingness to develop grant writing skills.
  • Ability to undertake a leadership role within a team, and to interact with students, collaborators, supervisors, and funders.
