About this scholarship

Project title: Design of energy trading based on blockchain technology to address network constraints for two-sided markets

The ARC Training Centre in Energy Technologies for Future Grids has been established in 2022 to address the complex and challenging issues currently limiting the growth of renewable energy. The goal is to develop innovative methodology and technology that will facilitate the widespread integration of renewable resources into electricity grids while maintaining grid stability.

Project Description:

A two-sided electricity market will modify the relationship among customers, retailers and market operators. It will also add significantly to the value household energy technology contributes to consumers and the broader system. But it will require a considerable overhaul of how we describe and regulate electricity buyers and sellers and new systems to govern how bidding takes place in the market. Also, network constraints will be of significant concern for facilitating trading in the upcoming energy market. This project aims to develop a blockchain-based, two-sided market transition framework to optimally reward/incentivise customers for their services to grids.
