About this scholarship

The Go Global Equity Bursary has been developed to support current students undertaking a Go Global program who are experiencing financial hardship

The Go Global Equity Bursary will provide the following support:

  • A one-off cash payment of $3,000. The amount can be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.


Scholarship Details

All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees

Double degrees are not considered eligible 


Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered eligible for the Go Global Equity Bursary:

  • Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian or New Zealand citizen
  • Enrolled in a full-time (minimum of 75 credits) in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at Curtin Bentley or Kalgoorlie in Semester 2 2024.
  • Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of at least 60
  • Low SES background
  • Experiencing financial hardship
  • Undertake a Go Global program in the semester of offer
  • Meet the semester exchange program eligibility listed on the Go Global website 

Please note:

  • Applicants cannot be in receipt of a John Curtin Undergraduate Scholarship, New Colombo Plan Scholarship, or Don Watts High Achiever Scholarship.
  • Students are unable to receive both the Curtin Go Global Equity Bursary and a Curtin Go Global Merit Scholarship for the same program.


Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • Please note that this link will direct you to the general "Equity Scholarship Program " application form. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all equity scholarships that you are eligible for in this round.
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (equity and merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program".

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • You will be considered for all equity scholarships (need base) that you meet the eligibility criteria for
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ link on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Financial need
    • Socioeconomic background

Step 6: Outcome

  • All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 6-8 weeks of the scholarship closing dat

Step 7: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient need


Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Must complete the overseas program in the proposed study period.
  • Maintain an enrolment in semester 2, 2024 at Curtin University
  • Not be in receipt of any other scholarship from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
