About this scholarship

The purpose of the Warakirri Agricultural Scholarship is to support and provide financial assistance to undergraduate students undertaking Agricultural courses.

Warakirri Asset Management is a leader in Australian agricultural investment management with over 22 years' experience in acquiring, developing and operating agricultural assets on behalf of institutional investors.

They are the trustee and manager of the Warakirri Cropping Trusts - a large-scale broadacre grain producer; and the investment manager for Aurora Dairies - a large-scale milk producer.

The Warakirri Agriculture Scholarship will provide the following support for up to one year (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):

  • A total of $5,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester. The stipend may be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses
  • The scholarship recipient is required to undertake their Industry Placement at one of Warakirri Agriculture's entities subject to availability


Scholarship Details

  • Bachelor of Agribusiness
  • Bachelor of Science (Agriculture Science)


  • Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • Enrolled full-time (100 credits) in the 3rd year of an eligible course in semester 1, 2023
  • Minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 50
  • Not currently in receipt of any other industry sponsored scholarships


Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete)

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found under the ‘Application Advice’ tab on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Academic merit
    • Responses to 'barriers to education' question in
    • Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
    • Preference will be given to students in financial hardship
      • Financial hardship will be assessed from the 'barriers to education' question in the application form

Step 6: Shortlist for Interview

  • Shortlisted applicants sent an interview date and time via student email
  • Shortlisted applicants must be available for designated interview time
  • Interviews will be conducted between 29 March and 6 April 2023
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be sent a notification via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS)

Step 7: Outcome

  • Successful and unsuccessful interview applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Official Communications Channel within approximately two weeks of their interview date

Step 8: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit


Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Remain enrolled in initial course of study
  • Maintain a full-time enrolment of at least 100 credits per semester at Curtin University
  • Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 50 per semester
  • Pass all units attempted each semester 
  • Not apply for or receive any other industry sponsored scholarship whilst receiving the Warakirri Agriculture Scholarship
