About this scholarship

The purpose of the Integrity Engineering Solutions Scholarship is to support and encourage mechanical engineering students in their studies and to promote Integrity Engineering Solutions as a future employer. 
 
Integrity Engineering Solutions is a niche engineering consulting firm dedicated to applying advanced, practical knowledge to the solution of the most difficult engineering problems in the Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Minerals Processing and Mining industries. IES are specialists in assessment techniques for Design, Fitness-For-Service, Failure Analysis, Repair and Modification of Fixed Equipment.

The Integrity Engineering Solutions Scholarship will provide the following support for up to one year (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):

  • A total value of up to $5,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester. The stipend may be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards education-related expenses such as text books and/or general living expenses.
  • Paid vacation employment - 12 weeks' paid vacation work during the summer break (potential salary value of around $12,000)

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), Bachelor of Commerce (double degree)


Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Integrity Engineering Solutions Scholarship:

  • Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • Commencing penultimate year of their degree in semester 1, 2023
  • Enrolled in either:
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), Bachelor of Commerce double degree
  • Minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 65
  • Not be in receipt of any other industry sponsored scholarship


Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete).

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ page on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
    • Resume
    • References

Step 6: Shortlist for Interview

  • Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via their student email.
  • Shortlisted applicants must be available for designated interview time
  • Interviews will be scheduled between late March and early April 2023
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be sent a notification via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS)

Step 7: Outcome

  • Successful and unsuccessful interview applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS)

Step 8: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline
  • Successful applicants must also accept the standard employment terms and conditions (including confidentiality and IP ownership) of Integrity Engineering Solutions for the vacation employment.

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
  • Scholarship will commence from the semester of study for which the scholarship was awarded
  • Scholarship is not transferable to another major, course or university
  • The award and continuity of the scholarship is subject to receipt by Curtin of the scholarship funding from the industry sponsor


Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Remain enrolled in initial course of study
  • Maintain a full time study load of at least 100 credit points each semester at Curtin University
  • Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 65 each study period
  • Pass all units attempted each study period
  • Complete at least one period of vacation employment at Integrity Engineering Solutions
  • Not apply for or receive any other industry sponsored scholarship whilst receiving the Integrity Engineering Solutions Scholarship
  • Accept the standard employment terms and conditions (including confidentiality and IP ownership) of the sponsor for the vacation employment
