About this scholarship
The MNG Surveying Scholarship has been developed by McMullen Nolan Group Pty Ltd (MNG), in conjunction with Curtin University, to encourage and support students who have chosen to study surveying at Curtin University and who have a special interest in cadastral surveying, mapping or mining surveying.
MNG is one of Australia’s premium surveying and spatial information service providers. Established in 1989, MNG is headquartered in Jandakot, Western Australia in an ultra-modern office complex. With over 100 professionals employed across the nation MNG has offices in Melbourne to service Eastern Australia and in regional WA covering the Kimberley and South West.

The MNG Surveying Scholarship will provide the following support for up to one year (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):
- A total value of up to $2,500 paid as a cash stipend of $1,250 per semester. The amount can be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.
Scholarship Details
3rd, 4th or Honours year in one of the following courses:
- Bachelor of Mine and Engineering Surveying
- Bachelor of Surveying
- Bachelor of Surveying (Honours)
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for the MNG Surveying Scholarship:
- Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, the holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa or New Zealand citizen
- Enrolled full-time (100 credits) in semester 1, 2023
- Enrolled in the third, fourth or Honours year in an eligible degree in semester 1, 2023
- Minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 65
- Not currently hold a non-Curtin sponsored scholarship
Application process
Step 1: Apply
- Application form can be accessed via ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student, and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete).
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date listed at top of page and within Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Academic merit
- Responses provided in the application form
- Performance in interview (for shortlisted applicants)
- References
Step 6: Shortlist for Interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via their student email
- Shortlisted applicants must be available for the designated interview time
- Interviews will be scheduled between 29 March and 6 April 2023
Step 7: Outcome
- Successful and unsuccessful interview applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) within approximately two weeks of their interview date
Step 8: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via Scholarship Channel by deadline

Holding more than one industry scholarship
Students may apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for, and if successful, will be awarded the highest value scholarship. If students are successful in receiving an offer for more than one scholarship valued the same, they will have the opportunity to select their preferred scholarship.
