About this scholarship
The scholarship aims to assist high achieving and highly motivated local students who have been offered a full-time place at an Australian university for the first time to study an undergraduate bachelor’s degree first year level and are experiencing financial and/or social challenges.
The purpose of this scholarship is to support students from low socioeconomic backgrounds who are experiencing financial hardship and have contributed to their local community.

This scholarship provides a total of $4,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,000 per annum, based on full-time studies, up to a maximum of 2 years*
The stipend can be used for study-related expenses.
*The scholarship will be offered for one year initially but may be awarded for up to two years (dependent upon academic performance)
Scholarship Details
All undergraduate courses at a WA university
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Reside in, or have attended a secondary school in the City of Bayswater (WA)
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Be a first-time, first year undergraduate in 2023 (first attendance at an Australian University at bachelor’s degree level)
- Studying a full-time bachelor’s degree on campus at an Australian university (in an approved Australian course)
- Have completed Year 12
- Aged 25 years or younger as at 31 January 2023
- Able to demonstrate community involvement
- Able to demonstrate the challenges (financial and/or social) which are hindering student to undertake further study

Scholarships will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee and will be based on how an applicant addresses the following criteria:
- Academic achievement
- Financial and/or social challenges
- Evidence of leadership and citizenship within their communities
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Maintain a full-time enrolment of 100 credits per semester
- Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of 70 or above
- Pass all units attempted each semester
