2 PhD scholarships in Mine Electrification - Energy and Storage Infrastructure Design, Electric Mobile Fleet Operation

Updated: about 2 years ago
Deadline: 2022-01-31T00:00:00Z

We are hiring two PhD students to work with us at The University of Adelaide in Australia on the mining mobile fleet electrification. The

project is funded by Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre collaborating with several companies and state

governments agencies.

It is an intellectually challenging and extremely important project for the resource sector in Australia. We want to provide the Australian mining

industry with a suite of decision-making tools and information that will aid their transition towards the use of battery-supported electric vehicles

(BEVs) and associated stationary machinery in their mining operations.

Your contributions to this work would help a critical industry achieve its net-zero emission goal and cost reduction with a tangible impact on the

climate and the health of mining workers.

Candidates with an Australian equivalent first-class honours degree (or a master’s degree) in *electrical engineering*, *operations research*,

*applied mathematics*, or *computer science* with experience in power systems and e-transportation are encouraged to apply. The opportunities are valued at A$35K pa stipend + A$5K pa research allowance. Please see more details at:
