Summary of Duties:

The Engineering and Technology Management (ETM) online master’s degree program at Washington State University invites applications for a specialized career (non-tenure) track full-time, 9-month, continuous teaching appointment at the Assistant or Associate level in one of the areas of leadership, project management, quality control, financial management, analytical methods, constraints management, strategic management, industrial leadership, systems management, or other specialty areas. This position will be remote and teach through WSU’s Global Campus.

 

The job duties of the successful candidate include developing and teaching graduate courses in Engineering and Technology Management; advising students; effectively communicating and interacting with students, faculty, and staff; developing curriculum; participating in continuous teaching and program assessment improvement activities; interfacing with industry and professional networks; supporting student recruitment and retention activities; and collaborating with others within the Department, College, University, and other organizations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must posses at least a master's degree in engineering management or closely-related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching online courses in more than one of the topics offered by the program.

  • Strong industry experience in engineering management and/or technology management.

  • Experience in online curriculum development, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to diversifying the student body.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference for the position will be given for candidates who are a recognized authority in their field, have the potential to foster industry partnerships, and have held an executive leadership position in the industry.

  • Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by the time of hire.

New faculty hired for this position will join existing faculty members in the Engineering and Technology Management Department. The faculty member should expect to teach 2-3 classes of about 20-25 students each semester, advise approximately 15-20 students, oversee 1 or 2 graduate certificate programs and several individual courses.   

The Engineering and Technology program was established in 1982 and is nationally recognized as a top online graduate degree program.
