Summary of Duties:
This position has primary responsibility for day-to-day contact, advising and guidance of students, faculty, staff, and parents in all areas of Student Financial Services. Position will provide support to the department’s mulit-faceted student services and outreach area. Programmatic duties involve financial aid and scholarships programs and processing, client services facilitation, utilizing award adjustment, professional judgment, needs analysis skills and liaison support to other offices. Outreach support includes participating in recruitment and outreach events, providing presentations to a variety of groups.
Position duties and responsibilities will be performed in support of the office vision, mission and values as well as institutional mission and goals.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Experience in customer service.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Developed skills in written and verbal communication, including experience with large group presentations.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends/evenings.
Good problem solving skills.
Ability to perform multiple tasks.
Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with student services in a higher education setting especially Admissions, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, Registrar, Graduate School, Athletics, and/or Housing and Dining.
Experience with PeopleSoft.
Master’s Degree.
