Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Development, this position is responsible for the coordination of student-athlete development programs, management of the Cougar Pursuit Network, and coordination of alumni engagement. The position will serve as the employer relations lead for the Cougar Pursuit. The position provides career counseling and serves as an alumni engagement officer for the Gray W, letterwinner’s club. In addition, this position coordinates first year transitioning programs for student-athletes. 


Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the student-athlete development area assisting student-athletes with career exploration, career development, and facilitating workshops to students.

  • Ability to work with students, alumni, coaches and administrators in a broad range of situations.

  • Experience recruiting or engaging with employers. 

  • Experience with alumni engagement or fundraising. 

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated successful experience working with a diverse population and understanding of multicultural issues.

  • Experience that demonstrates genuine concern and interest for welfare of student-athletes.
