Summary of Duties:
The Student Employment Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating the day-to-day administration of student employment positions for undergraduate and graduate students seeking on-campus and off-campus, part-time jobs. The Program Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders who have a vested interest in student employment. Responsibilities include assisting students with employment questions and applications, posting employment vacancies on the Handshake platform, serving as the campus liaison to departments with student employment needs, and planning and implementing University-wide recognition events for National Student Employment Appreciation Week. This position also coordinates the newly formed student employment advisory board, which aims to implement a student employment training series aimed at helping on-campus employers create and navigate impactful student employment experiences. The Student Employment Coordinator also serves as the Job Location & Development (JLD) Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring off-campus employment opportunities for students.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
Two years of full-time experience in a student services or related area.
Strong organization, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail.
A motivated/enthusiastic work style, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a career-services or related office.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to student success and retention.
Experience working with faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers, or other constituent groups.
