Summary of Duties:

The Residential Education Director is a full-time, 10 month, live-in professional appointment overseeing the management of a residence hall of 145 – 600 students. 
 
Depending on hall assignment, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of paraprofessional staff, administration of special programs (academic initiatives, theme hall programming, Honors programs, etc.), adjudicating student code of conduct and housing policy/contract violations, personal counseling, programming, budget development and management, community development, crisis management and conflict resolution, committee work, collateral assignments within the Division of Student Affairs, as well as, emergency on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) academic years of relevant residence hall leadership, paraprofessional or group living experience and demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A Master’s degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration/Counseling Psychology or a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

  • Must be willing and able to keep regular hours and work some evenings and weekends.

  • Must be willing and able to live in the assigned residence hall and respond to after hours emergencies as needed. Due the requirement to live on campus, this position is exempt from the Washington Minimum Wage Act in accordance with  Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 49.46.010(3)(j).

  • Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience advocating for diversity.

Monthly Salary:

$4,152.63 plus a $1,360 room and board perquisite
