Summary of Duties:

The Program Assistant supports prospective international students for Washington State University system and the Pullman Campus. The Admissions, Recruitment and Marketing Unit recruits global talent to all of WSU campuses and reads applications from Future Cougs. 

Individual in this role will perform specialized technical/clerical duties in support of the Office of International Programs Admissions, Recruitment, and Marketing unit. Under the general supervision of the Director and the Assistant Director this individual will provide students, staff, and program participants as well as the public with information and interpretation of policies and activities related to the programs specialty. The individual will compose written communications, establish and maintain records relating to the day-to-day operation of the Admissions, Recruitment, and Marketing unit.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software such as MS Office, and Outlook email.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including attention to detail. 

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to work with a diverse student population and knowledge of multicultural issues. 

  • Experience working in a university office.

  • Bilingual or proficiency in a language besides English.
