Summary of Duties:

The Program Assistant position serves as the digital media assistant and provide graduate program assistance for the English department. This position performs a variety of complex clerical, reception, and secretarial duties in support of the department. Responsibilities include: create and maintain databases, coordinate department website and social media presence and assist with the program development updates from the Director of Graduate studies. The Program Assistant will assist with special events, prepare correspondence, and update websites.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including demonstrated experience with databases and/or spreadsheets. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including attention to detail. 

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to work with a diverse student population and knowledge of multicultural issues. 

  • Experience working in higher education or related office setting.
