Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Photographer 2 position performs a variety of photographic tasks, including but not limited to marketing and news images, including environmental portraits, both individual and group, athletic and other events, product shots, medical, scientific and other technically difficult subjects, for use in a wide variety of print and digital mediums. Under the direction of the Photo Services Supervisor, performs a variety of technical photographic tasks including but not limited to taking and processing digital images, and creating complicated lighting scenarios in studio and on location.

Required Qualifications:

Three years of experience in still photography, including one year as a Photographer 1; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Three (3) or more years of professional photography experience working in a marketing or news service.

  • Ability to transport and use professional level camera and lighting equipment for long periods of time.

  • Ability to shoot fast-moving subjects, e.g., athletic events.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of higher education and of Washington State University in particular; knowledge of the Pacific Northwest.

  • Ability to operate DSLR cameras to capture high-quality video footage for use in marketing productions.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
