Summary of Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, provides specialized administrative support and coordination within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in support of the teaching, clinical and research missions of the unit.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination of personnel processes, scheduling departmental resources, providing administrative and clerical support to departmental leadership, and providing operational information within a large, complex department.  Must exercise independent judgement and use skills to work in a confidential environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduation or equivalent and one year of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office, Google and other software, include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access, Google Docs and Doodle Poll. 

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Experience composing general correspondence. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clerical experience working in a university or other academic setting. 

  • Experience working with faculty, staff, administrators and practitioners. 

  • Experience with scheduling and planning meetings
