Summary of Duties:
The Office Assistant 1 performs a variety of general clerical support duties as part of an office that is responsible for making prompt and accurate payments to WSU employees. In support of office operations, performs clerical duties/task such as establishing and maintaining record keeping/filing systems and database files, serving as front counter support, and performing mathematical calculations and copying materials. Under direct supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the following: receiving and distributing incoming mail to the appropriate department personnel; answering phones and serving walk-in Payroll customers; filing; assisting in collecting payroll documents and entering them into payroll systems; assisting and backing up the payroll production team; performing other routine payroll duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent OR six months of clerical work experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with the public.
Demonstrated experience multi-tasking.
