Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Consult with instructors in the design and development of successful classroom, online, hybrid, distance, synchronous and asynchronous instruction, based upon best practices and sound pedagogy; support instructors and graduate students in the delivery and maintenance of these courses; investigate technologies and practices that enable effective methods of instruction; train and support faculty in the effective and efficient use of instructional technology.
 

This position requires excellent communication skills for interfacing with faculty on a regular basis and the ability to translate technological concepts into easy to understand format. 

This position is based out of Pullman , WA, and does not have remote work availability.


Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in communications, computer science, management information systems or other relevant field and three (3) years relevant related professional experience including experience with complex telecommunication systems or multimedia systems. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting others in developing outcomes driven learning experiences.

  • Demonstrated experience with online Learning Management Systems.

  • Demonstrated experience applying innovative instructional technologies and/or teaching innovations.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting instructors in the implementation of academic technology to enhance teaching and/or learning.

  • Knowledge of learning theory.

  • Strong oral and written, mediated and digital communication skills. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Academic Technology, Higher education or related field.

  • Experience with Instructional Design and application of Academic Technologies in a higher education setting.

  • Experience teaching in higher education.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

  • Knowledge and understanding of Inclusive Pedagogy.
