Summary of Duties:
Responsible for auditing resident and patient records for completeness and accuracy and for following up with residents to ensure all necessary documents are included in their patient files. Answers patients and resident’s questions regarding patient records, forms, and related paperwork. This position provides training to other staff members on auditing medical records and assists with the archiving, storing, retrieving, and check out processes for patient records. Responsible for processing internal and experience records requests.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree AND at least two (2) years of experience in Health Information Management (medical records) or in a healthcare privacy and/ or compliance office or related area. Combined experience in the above areas may be substituted year for year for the experience desired.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated skill in attention to details.
- Strong organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
