Summary of Duties:
Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer designs and prepares original artwork and/or visual material for a variety of communication purposes. Positions are responsible for developing and designing a variety of visual communication materials in conjunction with a client. Positions work independently and provide recommendations and advice to clients on practical applications of graphic design, selection of paper stock, type-style, colors, photography, and other media and in determining the most appropriate methods and techniques of designing and producing graphic materials, publications, and media targeted toward a specific audience.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of college-level training in graphic arts, illustration, drafting or closely allied field AND one year of experience as a Graphics Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.
Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of color theory, design principles and composition, methods and techniques of graphic design.
Familiarity with marketing principles.
Experience with Adobe After Effects and/or Premier Pro.
Experience with digital/DSLR cameras.
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Experience working in a higher education or similar institutional setting.
