Dining is hiring for multiple Food Service Team Lead positions. Please see the general summary of duties for all vacancies and the specific requirements for each position. In your cover letter, please state which position you are interested in.

Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision of the Dining Services Manager, responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of designated areas within the Dining Center. Maintain proper use and cleanliness of equipment in assigned areas following prescribed guidelines. Cooperate in maintaining a productive, harmonious, and positive work environment.

Food Service Team Lead – Utility (Dishroom)

Monitor, lead, and direct student employees scheduled in the dish room and pots and pans area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit within 14 days of employment, AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • More than 6 months experience leading and training employees.

  • General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.

Food Service Team Lead Production

Responsible for working with unit chef and culinary team in preparation and presentation of food in assigned area(s) to include: platform menu items, special menus, prep items and catering menu items. Develop and ensure proper par stock ordering levels so that enough product are on hand while minimizing waste from over purchasing. Responsible for proper handling and storage of all food products. Provide an adequate supply of clean, sanitary, and properly stored dishware, utensils, and pots and pans to appropriate work locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit within 14 days of employment, AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Two to five years food service experience.

  • Multi-faceted food experience.

  • Experience leading and training employees.

  • General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.
