Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Dean’s office at the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is seeking a Fiscal Analyst reporting to the College Chief Financial Officer to perform a variety of complex fiscal duties. This requires establishing and maintaining professional work relationships with approximately 12-assigned units within CAS. The successful candidate is responsible for managing/overseeing budgets, payroll/personnel, fiscal functions of assigned units, independently providing advice and guidance on the overall financial management, and administrative functions of a large complex college that supports instructional, research, service, maintenance, and other related activities. Other duties include developing, implementing, and monitoring complex finance reports and databases and working with finance team on large deadline driven projects. The incumbent will research and perform strategic financial analysis and communicate with the Finance Managers, Chairs, Directors, Associate Deans, and the Dean.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or a related field, and three (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Knowledge of University administrative policy and budgetary procedures or equivalent experience.

  • Strong computer skills and experience using MS Office, particularly Excel, and databases. 

  • Ability to organize and coordinate financial information from a variety of sources into a useful end product.

  • Experience leading or directing the work of others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to organize and coordinate financial information from a variety of sources into a useful end product. 

  • Requires demonstrated capability to exercise good judgement and analytical thought processes.

  • Experience with WSU grant and contract budget development and administration, personnel and position control processing.

  • Demonstrative effective oral and written communication skills.
