Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision , the incumbent provides fiscal support using independent judgment in the interpretation and application of a variety of rules and procedures in the field of financial research administration.  The incumbent prepares automated or manual recurring fiscal reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and local policy; creates and administers low-complexity awards; supports fiscal analysts in work for higher-complexity awards; ensures compliance with grant and/or contract requirements; notifies appropriate personnel of actions needed as issues arise; prepares financial reports analyzing, interpreting and summarizing data in accordance with the specific sponsor’s terms and conditions; and prepares awards for fiscal and administrative closeout and archive.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software; An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
  • Demonstrated experience using and intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with grants and contracts, particularly post-award experience
  • Experience auditing, reconciling, analyzing data
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
