Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Director of the Carson Center, the Carson Center Office Administrator is responsible for the management of the Center’s financial processes, office operations, and administrative functions that support the programs, events, and services offered by the Carson Center. In addition to overseeing the Carson Center budget process, the Office Administrator supervises a team of student staff who are responsible for providing exemplary customer service and professionally managing inquiries from a wide range of constituents. As a member of the Carson Center’s Leadership Team, the Office Administrator advises the Director and departmental leaders on budgetary, hiring, recruitment/retention strategies, and program management issues.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Able to maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor while meeting deadlines and working in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to quickly and independently learn new software programs.
Work experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Demonstrated experience performing fiscal/budget related functions.
Experience researching, interpreting, and following policies and procedures.
Proven ability to function effectively as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Three years’ work experience with accounting, office management, or financial records management.
Willing and able to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Past supervisory experience or experience training other employees.
