Summary of Duties:

The successful candidate is expected to teach up to three courses per semester and contribute to curriculum development in a range of areas within Mechanical Engineering. The candidate will also be expected to provide service in support of School's activities. Service duties may include establishment and oversight of laboratory facilities, engaging in mentoring and outreach activities, as well as other activities assigned by the School Director.


Required Qualifications:

An earned PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of hire, OR an earned MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of hire. Candidates with an MS degree must have previous teaching or industrial experience. Candidates must be qualified to teach a wide variety of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in mechanical engineering, including in the areas of Thermo-Fluids, Design and Mechanics. Ability to teach in the first two areas is particularly important. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are pre-requisites.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with prior industrial and/or teaching experience. We seek candidates who demonstrate strong commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion with respect to gender, ethnicity, underrepresented minority status, first-generation status and socioeconomic status.
