Position Details:

As a member of the Washington State University Athletic Department team, you have the opportunity to serve over 450 student-athletes and 17 athletic programs. Summary of Duties:
Leads the graphics design team in direction and creative vision for the department. Maintains a comprehensive department graphic identity program and ensures its compliance. Works with staff to conceptualize, develop, design, and prepare original designs, graphic layouts, and images for a variety of publications. Is a member of the External Directors team providing input and guidance for division goals and objectives. Provides professional, creative, and technical assistance to staff. Prioritizes and schedules design assignments. Designs, develops, creates, and produces graphic designs for all departmental publication and digital projects.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, administrative, business, liberal arts, social sciences, or related discipline plus four (4) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit, including one (1) year of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations.

  • Proficiency in publishing software including, but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Minimum of two years of management experience.

  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Work experience that demonstrates successful budget development and staff management.

  • Work experience that demonstrates extensive and broad-based oversight of multiple design projects in collegiate or professional athletics.

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to work well with a variety of constituents, including student-athletes, coaches, and Athletic administrators.

  • Experience that demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge and familiarity with all media platforms.

  • Work experience that demonstrates successful project management.

  • Experience working with NCAA, conference, university and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Familiarity with In Motion Now software platform.
