Summary of Duties:

This position utilizes diverse knowledge base for many fields within animal medicine including nutrition, parasite control, and restraint/handling.  Assists in all aspects of patient care including feeding, cleaning holding areas, and observing animals for sickness or abnormalities.  Clean animal holding areas and lab areas.  Assist in general maintenance and order supplies.  Lead temporary employees and write/update standard operating procedures for the unit.  Work hours 4am – 12:30pm.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of experience as an Animal Technician 2; OR equivalent education/experience.  

• Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with and caring for canine, feline, birds, and exotics.

• Experience in general maintenance and repair.

• Experience handling waste and performing custodial duties.

• Experience stocking inventory and completing laundry.
