Job Description

ZERO WASTE PROGRAM MANAGER, Facilities-Grounds Services, to be responsible for the management of a Zero Waste Program.  Will provide oversight, resources, and direction to the Recycling And Solid Waste Management team to achieve zero waste goals at the Institute; work with partners internally within Facilities, MITOS, and across the Institute to promote sustainability and zero waste goals; work closely with the supervisors and manager in Grounds Services, Fleet Management and Recycling and Waste Management to achieve high levels of quality work and customer satisfaction; and provide supervision, as needed, to union staff.  


Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least three years of experience in recycling and solid waste management, grounds services, or fleet management (multiple areas preferred); experience in a team-oriented environment; knowledge of recycling, organics, solid waste, and zero waste systems, markets, and operations; knowledge of federal and state waste disposal rules and regulations; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows operation systems, internet browsers and email programs; excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills; and the ability to work with a diverse population.    PREFERRED:  supervisory experience, ability to deal with emergencies in a supervisory capacity, and experience in a union environment.  Job #22697-8

Must be available to work any shift, weekends, and holidays with variances from week to week.
