Miami Herbert Business School (MHBS) is a comprehensive business school, offering undergraduate business, full-time MBA, Executive MBA, MS, PhD and non-degree executive education programs.  One of 12 colleges and schools at the University of Miami, the Business School is a major hub of international trade and commerce and acclaimed for the global orientation and diversity of its faculty, students, and curriculum.  The school delivers programs at its main campus in Coral Gables, Florida as well as at other locations across the state and abroad. 

 

The Yield Coordinator develops and implements highly proactive outreach services with attention to matriculating all enrolled candidates in furtherance of the department’s enrollment goal. Under the guidance of the Senior Business Officer and with a dotted line reporting structure to the Executive Director, Graduate Business Programs Enrollment the the incumbent is responsible for representing the University of Miami Herbert Business School throughout all post-admissions engagement phases leading up to the commencement of classes. In addition to these responsibilities, the Yield Coordinator also manages tuition reconciliations and ensures accurate reconciliation of student accounts. This role involves proactive outreach services to enrolled candidates, providing guidance and support to facilitate their successful transition into the program while addressing any tuition-related inquiries or discrepancies to ensure a seamless enrollment process.

 

 Additionally, the yield coordinator provides graduate students with holistic onboarding support by developing plans to ensure a smooth transition from admit to orientation with a focus on enrollment, transcript verification, financial aid and visa processing. 

 

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS       

1. Provides strong customer service and support for all admitted students to all programs through phone, email and in-person correspondence regarding enrollment, financial aid, and visa processing. 
2.    Monitors enrollment progress and proactively reaches out to admitted students to encourage them through the matriculation process.  
3.    Analyzes current yield management process and proposes improvements. 
4.    Oversee the I-20 process for graduate business programs and collaborates with internal departments to ensure immigration documentation of international students is processed expediently and correctly. 
5.    Reviews students’ records to ensure they are informed of any missing official documents, requirements, and deadlines prior to orientation. 
6.    Host team and admitted student trainings on visa processing and enrollment. 
7.    Verifies all enrolled students have completed documentation required by their program and are cleared for graduation.  
8.    Serves as a liaison between students and departments to address tuition related inquiries
9.    Participates in Tuition reconciliation process to ensure student payments, student accounts, and program enrollments are accurate. 
10.    Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

  • Assist prospective students (via e-mail, phone, virtual information sessions, walk-ins, scheduled appointments and/or recruiting events) with inquiries and provide insights about enrollment process post-admission. 

  • Establish best practices to enroll prospective students and keep students enrolled prior to orientation (reduce admitted student melt). 

  • Assist the Assistant Directors, and Associate Directors with processing applications including document uploads and data entry. 

  • Oversee the I-20 process for graduate business programs and collaborates with internal departments to ensure immigration documentation of international students is processed expediently and correctly. 

  • Verifies all enrolled students have completed documentation required by their program and are cleared for graduation by working with student activities office to ensure successful transition of deposited graduate applicants to on-campus orientation. 

  • Interact and work with the Associate Director of Operations, Executive Director of Operations, Senior Business Officer and Program Recruiters to ensure superior customer service to enrolled students and internal stakeholders. 

  • Lead, support, and attend admissions events for increased brand awareness and in support of delivering a best-in-class full student lifecycle. Aid the Graduate Admissions Team in the management of the prospect and applicant database. This includes updating of prospect and applicant data in the database and use of the database to effectively provide service to graduate business applicants.  

  • Analyze financial reports on student tuition revenues, outstanding balances, and student account statuses to assist in decision-making.

  • Create and maintain accurate tuition reconciliations, ensuring alignment between student accounts, payments, and program enrollments.

  • Coordinate with the finance team to accurately reconcile student accounts, and applying tuition adjustments and fee assessments, as necessary.

  • Serve as a liaison between students and relevant departments to address tuition-related inquiries, resolve billing discrepancies, and provide clear explanations regarding financial obligations and payment deadlines.

  • Other duties as assigned and required.

Department Specific Qualifications                                                                                

Experience:

3 years of experience in customer service, immigration, higher education, or other related fields

A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make sound decisions related to job responsibilities.

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills

  • Superior written, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and handle multiple requests/responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of the international student visa process and experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
