Salary Range
$65,000 per year
Essential Duties
- Coordinate operations of the Dreamscape Learn immersive spaces and ensure impactful experiences for learners.
- Provide historical background of Dreamscape Learn for guests and guide them through the virtual reality (VR) experiences from beginning to end.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests to ensure a positive experience.
- Troubleshoot VR equipment including VR backpacks, VR headsets, infrared trackers, infrared cameras, etc.
- Swap out defective equipment and handle the RMA process with external vendors.
- Perform regular testing and maintenance of all virtual reality pods and equipment. Train, mentor, supervise, schedule, and evaluate a team of student employees.
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with partners, both internal and external to ASU.
- Assist students and faculty within the utilization of pod technology for VR development projects or other projects using Dreamscape Learn technology.
- Manage, and maintain the Dreamscape Learn schedule through the web portal, Microsoft Outlook, or other scheduling software.
- Ensure appropriate opening and closing of the Dreamscape Learn facility.
- Ensure cleaning and safety guidelines are followed according to ASU standards.
Work schedule may include evening hours and/or occasional weekends to provide event support.
This position will be based on the Polytechnic campus after several weeks of in person training on the Tempe campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or closely related field AND 6 years providing instructional technology diagnostic and trouble-shooting support in a client server, cross platform environment. OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing operational leadership and excellent service to a diverse customer base, preferably in an educational and/or retail setting
- Experience providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and training for classroom technologies
- Experience monitoring and supporting a schedule of events in a high-volume environment
- Experience supporting virtual reality technologies
- Experience coordinating complex projects and managing related resources from start to finish
- Experience working in a lead position and coordinating the work efforts of a large team, including management of full time and student employees
- Experience maintaining cooperative relationships with internal groups and outside vendors to collaborate on projects, problem solve, or design solutions to technical issues
- Experience managing cases in reporting systems such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk
- Evidence of effective communication with both technical and non-technical users
- Experience leading small-group discussions and answering questions about developments in VR technology and other emerging technologies
- Ability to model empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence
- Experience hiring in a values-led organization, emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Ability to help foster a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive

- Willingness to learn how to support VR development and be able to test the quality of developmental VR experiences and occasionally assist with troubleshooting
- Ability to travel to other ASU campuses and willingness to occasionally travel out of state
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.
- Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds.
