Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
WUNC Radio provides quality news, information and entertainment programming to a broad listening audience that includes North Carolina, the United States and the world. WUNC serves North Carolinians from Greensboro to the Outer Banks through a network of seven stations.
Position Summary
This position will provide technical support and/or programming to staff which may include installing and configuring computer hardware, software, networks, printers, and scanners, diagnosing, and solving hardware/software issues and analyzing any underlying issues as necessary. This position will also carry out project management of IT systems upgrades, migrations and organization. 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and two years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position’s role; or a
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or a
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.
- Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and two years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position’s role; or a
  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or a
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Knowledge of Windows OS installation and troubleshooting experience;
  • Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP setups for computers, printers, etc.;
  • Knowledge of audio studio equipment a plus;
  • Ability to research issues and projects;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Experience in standard office software, PC and Mac OS and hardware;
  • Adobe Creative Cloud, sound and video editing software a plus.
